Dominoes falling in Colorado against pot enforcement

By | November 15th, 2012

Prosecutors in Denver “will no longer charge those 21 and older for carrying less than an ounce of marijuana,” reports The Denver Post.

Mitch Morrissey, the Denver district attorney, is following the lead of Boulder, which made a similar decision in light of the Nov. 6 passage of Amendment 64 in Colorado, which legalized adult possession of that amount of marijuana.

Prior to the election, Morrissey was vocally opposed to 64, saying during a rally [see video above] that it was unnecessary to have drug policy resolved through a state Constitutional amendment; that there would be expensive litigation; and that it would complicate the operations of businesses that are required to do employee drug screens.
